About MyTripTools

The practical details of a trip should be easier to figure out. MyTripTools brings travel tools, maps and country information into one place.

Explore travel tools

For the questions that come with every trip.

Do I need a visa? What adapter should I pack? How do I get from the airport to the city? How many Schengen days do I have left?

MyTripTools is a practical travel tools hub. We bring these everyday questions together so you can spend less time switching between websites and more time working out a trip that suits you.

You can use individual tools for a quick answer, explore a country in more detail, or bring useful places and information into your travel plan.

From an idea to the details.

Useful answers, with context.

We aim to make the inputs, result and next step clear. A calculator should explain what it counts; an estimate should look like an estimate; and missing information should stay visible.

Travel information changes. Our tools bring together structured data, published sources and calculations, with source links and dates where available. Coverage and freshness vary by tool and destination.

MyTripTools is independent of the authorities, airlines, hotels and transport providers whose information you may find here. We don't issue visas or book travel. Confirm official entry requirements and final prices before you apply, pay or travel.

How we write and review information

Each page starts with the question its tool can answer. Explanations distinguish recorded facts, calculated results and estimates. We do not treat a missing price as zero, a missing entry rule as visa-free access, or a forecast as a promise.

For changing entry rules, fees and transport information, the relevant authority or operator is the place to confirm current conditions. A source link identifies a reference; it does not by itself prove that every displayed record has been checked recently.

A recorded check date belongs to the information beside it. Editing the page or updating a data file does not establish a new verification date. Coverage can be incomplete, and we show limitations where they affect a result.

To report an outdated detail, include the page URL, affected country or route, the date you checked it and an official source if available. We use reports to investigate; sending one does not automatically change the published information.

Where the information comes from

Source links appear with individual results when available. The tools combine destination records, external providers and calculations; no single source supplies or verifies the whole site.

  • Entry rules and fees: recorded route and fee sources, plus links to destination authorities. The European Commission’s short-stay calculator is a reference for the Schengen counting rule.
  • Places and maps: attribution identifies the relevant provider, including GeoNames, OpenStreetMap contributors and OurAirports. A listed place is not confirmation that it is open.
  • Weather, currency and time: read the provider and observation or rate date beside the result. Time-zone calculations use the IANA Time Zone Database; monthly climate and forecasts cover different periods.
  • Calculators: the relevant page explains the counting rule, formula or planning assumptions. For sleep guidance, the Jet Lag Calculator links to the CDC Yellow Book and other health references; its suggested schedule is not a clinical prediction.

Our passport score methodology describes how published access categories are counted. It is a MyTripTools comparison, independent of other passport indexes and subject to the coverage of its underlying records.

Your discoveries, in one place.

The Travel Planner helps you organise destinations, journeys and places to visit. A MyTripTools account lets you keep supported plans and saved items together across visits.

Use the Visited Map to record where you've been. Some tools can also remember a draft or preferences in your browser. Browser-only data stays tied to that browser unless you use a supported account save or import feature.

Sharing is your choice. Check what a share preview includes before passing on a trip, map or story link.
